Awesome mA! I want hear more khutbahs like this at the masjid!
This is great masha’Allah! The War on Drugs and mass incarceration are two of the most terrible oppressions of our time and Muslims should be at the forefront of fighting this injustice. For all the Muslims who wish they could have stood side by side with Malcolm X against Jim Crow segregation, this is our opportunity to fight against the new racialized form of social control which disproportionately imprisons and disenfranchises millions of Blackamericans. I think our fight against this should be inspired by the Blessed Prophet’s statement “The people before you were destroyed because they inflicted legal punishments on the poor and forgave the rich.” – Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 8, Hadith 778
